I found myself in a position of discomfort. Who and what I was had begun to shift and much of it, I wasn't content with. I truly felt like an observer when I entered midlife and the changes fueled anxiety that was already out of control. I was confused, scared and angry...but most of all, I knew I needed help to navigate my way to a better life.
I entered the Mindful Midlife Program nervously. I didn't know much about exercising or journaling or taking time for myself. Naturally I had a lot of doubt but I was willing to believe and willing to try something new. Within the first few weeks I noticed my anxiety wasn't as bothersome. I was still having anxious moments, but I was able to steer them. I was sleeping better, paying more attention to my diet and was appreciating my life more. Okay, this works...I feel happier.
This has progressed from "wanting" to take time for myself throughout the day to actually doing it. Sherry has given me the tools to take care of my mind, body and spirit. I'm in control of my mood, I'm physically fit and enjoy being active. I've connected with myself on a spiritual level which allows me a calmer, more peaceful existence. There is an unmistakable joy and a sense of direction that I was unable to find before.
